DIY Scrapbooking Calendars Are Finished!

5 or 6 years ago I started to really enjoy creating handmade Christmas Gifts! I wanted to be able to create something that Scrapbooking / Memory Keeping related.
Now I can’t recall what inspired these calendars and they have been a Christmas Tradition ever since!

These are basically 12×12 Traditional Scrapbooking layout that I attach to a blank Calendar. I really enjoy doing these because it gives me an opportune to go back to my first love of doing really elaborate Memory Keeping Pages.

After working on these over the last 12 months I’m happy that these DIY Scrapbooking Calendars Are Finished!

Well… Lets be honest they are not completely finished. There are a still few things that I would like to get done on these calendars. Everything that is left that I would like to add is really only decorative. I could give these Calendars to my Mom & Grandma today and I would be feel really good about the way they look.

Below you will find a photo of each month. Some of these layouts I have done videos for over the last year and I will link those for you.

January

One of the reason these calendars always inspire me to be creative is because I tend to get my cricut out and use it. It is always so much fun to use die cutting machine.

February

This layout is one that I did years ago. In fact this was the very first Cricut/Stampin’ UP! class I taught, back before I was even a Stampin’ UP! demonstrator.

March

This was page I wanted to keep simple and do a little bit of stamping. I used one single stamp in the middle of the 4 pictures.

April

Even though I love creating these calendar pages I do tend to run out of ideas about 1/2 way though the set of 12 layouts. When this happens I enjoy do a simple Project Layout. It gets the layout done and helps keep me moving forward with the layouts.

May

I used to try and add more photos to each layout, however over the years I’ve learned that its easier if I just add a few photos to each layout.

I’ve also learned that its easier to not try and match the photos by season to the pages. Meaning I don’t always make sure that photos we take during the summer end up on the summer months in the calendar.

June

This is the layout that I had made a video of and then lost the footage. This was a fun layout to create, I used a few different stamp and even got out some old brads to use on this layout.

July

The other trick I like using is to get out my Project Life Cards and use them with a more traditional page. This layout was super simple. Project Life Americana Themed Cards and Stampin Up Star Framelits.

August

The moment I saw that this Sunshine paper I knew that I wanted to use it for these calendars. It is the perfect background paper for August.

September

This is one of the only pages that ended up being a little bit different for each Calendar. I’ve found that it  is easier when doing more than one calendar to make each “layout” or each “month” the same in each calendar.

October

For this layout I decided I would go with a simple Halloween Theme. You can view my process video for this layout HERE.

November

One of the down falls to putting your Calendars together and attaching photo mats BEFORE you add photos is the fact that you end up being stuck with trying to find a photo that is going in that direction.

This is what happened to me for this layout. I had two 4×6 photo mats on this layout. I placed them going vertical on the page.

The only photo I could find was the 5×7 photo of our family. I didn’t it wasn’t a big deal to place the photo over both photo mats.

December

I left this spot open in December so that our Family Christmas photo can go in that spot. I love the idea that instead of going in the trash the photo can placed here to be viewed again next December!

This year’s layout have been my favorite out of all the years I have done!

12x12 DIY Calendar

I like the weight of feel of the calendar paper and I also like the layout it. It makes it really easy to decorate the pages.

I am planning on doing another Calendar Workshop. This workshop will take place at the end of January and I am currently in the process of putting details together for it. Make sure you sign up HERE so you don’t miss any information about this upcoming workshop.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday weekend and I will be back next week.
