Project Life Wedding Series – Tips For Getting Started!

I can’t believe how inspired I’m feeling to really dive in with all of you and get this project done. I was blown away by the responds I had last week when I shared with you this was Project that I needed to get done! Thank you so much for all your encouragement and support!

I had so many questions and comments about this project I really need to give you guys I good place to start. I know this kind of project and feel MASSIVE!

{Tips For Getting Started}

Here are some of my top tips in getting started with this kind project.

  1. Print Your Photos!
    *My advice is PRINT ALL of them. Yes this will cost you a little bit more money in the beginning because you may not even use all of them. HOWEVER its better to have too many photos… instead of not enough!
    *If you are looking at a project where you have more than 1000 photos do your bust to sort them out. My rule of thumb is I will print up too 800 or 900 photos for a single project if I need to.
    *I always use Snapfish to print my photos, you often find great deals when printing online.
  2. Gather ALL Memorabilia/Extra Items
    *Everything needs to be in once place so you can see what you are working with. This will also help you to find the “flow” of the project.
    *You are also less likely to leave something out that you end up wanting to apart of the project. Project Life Albums or Scrapbooks are so much more than “just” fun projects you do. They are a piece of your life!
  3. Pick Your Product.
    This can also help you figure out the best flow to the project! Sometimes different product can inspire you to go a different direction than you original thought you wanted to.
  4. Sort & Store
    When you are working on a project this big the very best thing you can do is start out know you won’t get it done ALL AT ONCE. You will have take a brake from it! Those brakes can be good because you can come back to the project with a fresh prospective and new ideas.
    Make sure you purchase some containers that can sort and store all the items to your project. I like the Iris Scrapbook Cases found at Michaels but any containers will work.

The best thing to remember is that its going to take you some time! No matter how easy the steps are you will have set some time aside to work on it. And it will take longer than you think!

One of things I love doing to add a really fun touch to albums that are special events is getting 12×12 photos to include the album. or even using a 6×12 photo. I think it add such a pop of interest to the album.

We are using Persnickety Prints to enlarge our photos. Here are a few of the layouts that I have already completed!
