Stampin UP! Trimmer Review And Tips

Today I am going to share with you my thoughts on several of the trimmers that I have been using around my craft room.

Several of these have been favorites for years!

These trimmers are tools that I use every single time I create cards, put together treats bags, or work on my Project Life Album.

{Trimmer Review And Tips}

I have 2 of the Stampin’ UP! 12×12 trimmers. One sits at desk where I film, and create cards. The other one sits at my Project Life desk where I work on my Project Life albums.

I keep my small 6 inch trimmer on the shelf in front of my Project Life desk. This trimmer comes in handy for trimming photos, and Project Life Cards.

You can pick up the Stampin’ UP! Trimmer, and accesories in my online store HERE, or by clicking on the photos below. For every $50.00 you spend you get a FREE Sale-A-Bration item.

Use this months Host Code:S3929SPU when your order is at least $50.00 you will get all 3 of my FREE Card kits, and  a set of Rhinestones.

The only trimmer that I didn’t talk about in this video is my CARL Heavy Duty Rotary Paper Trimmer 12inch that I just purchased yesterday.

This is a trimmer that I purchased because of the work that I do. I am cutting a great deal of cardstock each week. I needed something that could cut several pieces of cardstock at once.

When I get this trimmer I will be jumping on Instagram Stories HERE this weekend to share with you the details of this trimmer.

You can find the other trimmers I use below. Please be advised that products found on amazon.com are linked using my affiliate link. (No extra cost is passed on to you when you purchase through me)

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the trimmers that I am currently using. Next Thursday, I will be doing a review on the markers that I am currently using for different projects I’m working on.

Quick And Cute Birthday Card

The cards I always seem to need the most of are Birthday Cards. Because I am always in need of them I like to keep the card design simple.

This is a card I created for my local card class that happens once a month. If you are local to my area you can find more information HERE.

I liked using the Animal Party Designer Paper to create a card that would work great for a masculine card which I’m always in need of.

{Quick And Cute Birthday Card}

I was able to use a Gold Wink Of Stella to create the simple shadow on the balloon. Then I used a Clear Wink Of Stella to blend the ink out, and give the entire balloon a little shimmer.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Last week Kayla ended up sick. She was home from school for 3 days, and then by Wednesday I was sick with whatever bug she had.

I hate being sick, and was thankful by this weekend when I was feeling better!

However, with everything that happened last week, I was behind getting the kids’ Valentine’s Day goodies together. So the kids, and I spent yesterday putting treats together, and baking cookies!

{Happy Valentine’s Day}

Kayla wanted to decorate her own Valentine’s Bag! I gave her pink, red, and white cardstock along with all the heart punches I had.

Violet helped with her bags by helping me glue the Love Sent Designer Paper on the page.

For Andrew I used 2×2 kraft boxes, and I added a simple heart with glimmer paper.

Below you will find a list of all the items Stampin’ Up currently has for Pretty Packages, along with any products I (we) used to create these treat bags.

Use this host code: 4HDD6NQY this month when you are placing your orders! When you spend $50.00 you will get all 3 of my FREE Card kits, plus a FREE WINK OF STELLA pen.

Today I am sharing with you my Project Life page for January. They are mostly completed pages, with just a few minor embellishing details I want to still do.

I thought I would share with you an overview of how these pages are turning out.

The only thing that I am doing differently this year from previous years is trying to keep up on my journaling monthly, instead of waiting and doing it all at once every 3 months.

{January 2017 Project Life Pages}

Here are photos of how each week turned out. I still have a little bit of work to do on these pages, and I will be posting that in the New Facebook Group. (Information below for that)

January 8th – 14th: Week 2

Week 2 has 1 insert which was done on Friday the 13th. I took 13 photos throughout my day. This page is not finished yet. When I finish it I will be posting it in the new Everyday Moments Facebook Group.

January 12th – 18th: Week 3

Week 3 has a simple Design A insert that I cut in half. These are photos of the Inauguration.

January 19th – 25th: Week 4

Week 4 is not finished yet, I will be posting these finished layouts in the Facebook Group.

Ink Pad Tips, Tricks & Storage Ideas

Years ago when I was only scrapbooking, I began looking for ink pads that I could re-ink that were a good quality. I didn’t know anything about stamping, and didn’t even own a stamp set.

After looking at different stamp pads, through many different companies I came across Stampin’ UP!

I fell in love with these stamp pads. What I love most about them is the way the stamp pad is stored when you are not using it. I think that is brilliant!!!!

I thought I would sharing with you some tips on re-inking these ink pads, how to open, and close them, and where I am storing mine.

{Ink Pad Tips, Tricks & Storage Ideas}

These stack together perfectly! You don’t have to have a special storage unit for them, which is amazing. I have mine stored on the wall right in front of me.

Ink Pad Tips, Tricks & Storage Ideas

However, if you have the space, and you are looking for some other storage ideas here are a few you might like.

Stampin’ up has the Stamp Pad Caddy. This will hold all your stamp pads, plus the re-inkers. You can pick this up in my online store HERE.

If you are wanting something that you mount on to the wall there are several option, my favorite is from Stamp N Storage!

I have several of the Ali Edwards Inks. You can find them HERE.

Of course I think everyone should have a silver ink, and a gold ink. The ones that I have are from Stampin’ UP! Several years ago. I found some on Amazon that I have linked below.

Creating Cards With Project Life Kits

I’m looking forward to heading to the Escape & Create Retreat this weekend where I will be teaching my very first local Project Life Class. You can check out what we will be creating HERE.

I always end up with Project Life Cards left over, and I wanted to put them to good use!

Creating these simple card using the left over cards from the Project Life Celebrate Everyday Kit worked perfectly. I love the simple layout of each card!

{Creating Cards With Project Life Kits}

Whenever I am struggling to create cards, one of my “go to” methods is to simply put a 3×4 square on the card as a layer. It seems like everything works out after that point.

Creating Cards With Project Life Kits

I had to be extra careful when trimming down the 4×6 cards to make sure the design remained centered. I love that I was able to add simple items like Rhinestones, or a little color with markers to add different elements to each card.

Inside The Lines Inspired Cards

Last week was a bit of a struggle for me. I somehow lost my creative mojo. When this happens it’s always sad because I love creating, and want to be creating beautiful things.

Over the weekend I finally started to recover a little bit, and the creative mojo started to come back.

I posted on my team Facebook page a color combo challenge. Our team loves engaging in color combos, and card sketches!

The color combo was simple: Black & White with a splash of color. I knew right away I wanted to use the “Inside The Lines” Designer paper that you can get for FREE when placing a $50.00 order.

{Inside The Lines Inspired Cards}

These were super simple to put together. I loved being able to pair the Designer Paper with any color I wanted. I even used some retired Blackberry Bliss Cardstock. (Ohhh how I miss that color)

Inside The Lines Inspired Cards

It was easy to pair the Congrats from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, with the Butterfly Thinlits to create a different look. I will be sending these cards to my team members this month. I would love for you to JOIN MY TEAM, and join in on all the fun.

You can check out all the details about joining HERE! Right now is a great time to join! You get 2 FREE stamp sets of your choice when you join. Plus a FUN package of goodies from me.

4 Cards With Dragonfly Dreams

On Friday the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle showed up on my door step! I knew that I wanted to take a few days to play around with this new product.

I always feel like I need a few practice runs with a new stamp set to get use to how it is going to stamp.

After playing around with the designs for a little while I settled on this card design. I have to admit that the last few weeks my inspiration has been running low. What do you do when you lose your mojo?

{4 Cards With Dragonfly Dreams}

This is the first card I created using the glitter splatter technique. You can see that I smudged some of the gold ink when I put the sentiment onto the card. (You win some… you lose some right!)

Embossing Tips, Tricks & Storage Ideas

I’ve been wanting to launch a new series for sometime now. Today I am finally diving in. Each Thursday I will be taking a look a different crafting products that I use when I am creating.

I will be sharing with you tips, and tricks each week, along with storage options.

This week we are going to get started by taking look at what I use for embossing, and how I store all of my supplies. I have a very small, but effective collection of embossing items.

{Embossing Tips, Tricks & Storage Ideas}

Embossing is one of those things that I love doing, it has such a beautiful effect on your projects, however it can be messy, and somewhat time consuming.

I have found if my supplies are organized, and what I have works well for me, I am more willing to get everything out to spend the time using the product.

Embossing Storage:

This is a look at how I store all of my embossing powders, and items needed when I’m using the embossing products.

Embossing Tips, Tricks & Storage Ideas

Here are all the items that I talked about in my video.

  • Alex Drawers – These drawers are from Ikea, and I love them.
  • Clear Containers – These are amazing for embossing powder, and they come in several different sizes. You can find them on Amazon, or many times you can find them at Ross or TJ Max.
  • Tiny Spoons – These come in a package of 100. You may want to split them with a friend.
  • Snappy Tray – This is my favorite thing EVER! Simple to use, and works perfectly.

You can pick up any of the embossing items from Stampin’ UP! HERE in my online store, or by clicking on any of the photos below.

Please use HOST CODE: 4HDD6NQY to receive your FREE Card kits, and your FREE Wink Of Stella Pen.

Don’t forgot that right now Sale-A-Brations is happening! You can get FREE items for every $50.00 you spend! Spend $250.00, and you will get 5 Sale-A-Bration items. That’s $40.00 in FREE product!

It is my hope that you will enjoy this series I am starting. I am planning going over some of the following topics over the next few weeks.

  • Trimmers
  • Punches for Projects Life
  • Stampin’ Up Inks & Reinkers
  • Copics, Markers, & Pens

If you have any other topics you would like me to dive into please leave me a comment, and let me know. I would love to add it to my list.
